ArXiV is created and maintained by the Cornell University and it is the first open access electronic archive with research articles. It started in August 1991 and provides access to the full text.

Computing Research Repository is a subset of ArXiv and includes publications related to computing research. It was created through a partnership of ACM, the ArXiv.org e-print archive and NCSTRL and provides open access to the scientific publications.

It was created in 2013 on behalf of the European Commission, by CERN and OPENaire european program, in order to serve open science.

Zentralblatt MATH (zbMATH) is a comprehensive, abstracting and reviewing service in pure and applied mathematics in the areas of natural sciences, computer science, economics and engineering. It also covers history and philosophy of mathematics and university education. It is produced by FIZ Karlsruhe and edited by the European Mathematical Society, FIZ Karlsruhe, and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The zbMATH database indexes more than 3.000 journals and serials and 170.000 books, conference proceedings etc. The coverage starts in the 18th century and is complete from 1868 to the present.
