Due to the significance and the role of printed material for the departments of humanities and social studies, a great effort was early made to provide the collections of the Library with relative material. Documentation of Subject fields such as Classical and Greek Antiquity Studies, Byzantine Studies, the Period of the Venetian Dominion, the Period of the Turkish Dominion, the European Middle Ages, the European Renaissance, the Enlightenment, Modern European History, Economic History and Greek Economic History are included in this Library. The efficiency and wealth of the Library is rare, given the current situation of other libraries in Greece.
